No Junk Mail
We know that everyone is busy, and nobody likes their email inbox cluttered up with junk mail. We will only send you marketing messages if you choose to receive them from us or third parties we work with and think you may be interested in hearing from. If you choose to receive our mailings or our partner’s mailings, we will only send you details about items and promotions which we think will be of interest to you.
If you decide that you no longer want to receive emails from the Website, you can unsubscribe by clicking the 'manage subscriptions' link at the bottom of your latest email newsletter. We will never sell your details to an unconnected third party for marketing purposes.
Disclosure of your information
We may share your personal information with any member of the Aurora group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006.
We may share your information with selected third parties including:
Business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you.
Google and our affiliate networks in order to track data to monitor our users behaviour on the Website which allows us to attribute sales to external advertisers within affiliated networks and to determine related products that are displayed on the Website.
Advertisers and advertising networks that require the data to select and serve relevant adverts to you and others. We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers, but we may provide them with aggregate information about our users (for example, we may inform them that 500 women aged under 30 have clicked on their advertisement on any given day). We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target (for example, women in SW1). We may make use of the personal data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers' wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience.
Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our Website.

Where we store your personal data
All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. When you shop at our website we use a 128-bit SSL encrypted secure internet connection to protect your payment details. Your computer should automatically allow the opening of the secure connection when you place your order. This means that all the details you supply and any responses are encrypted before they are sent over the internet. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. What information do we collect and how will we use it?
We collect information about you at several interaction points:
- Registering for a newsletter - When you register to receive an email newsletter from Coast you can also choose to share more personally identifiable information with us, for example your name, gender, postcode, country and birthday. This information is stored in our CRM and our email service provider and is used to make sure we send you emails that are relevant to you.
- Creating an account - You can choose to create an account with Coast. To do this you need to provide us with your name, email address, password and telephone number. We will keep this data for as long as you are registered with us, so that we can use it to identify you by your account and enable you to place an order to purchase products. This data is stored in our Website platform and our CRM.
- Making a purchase (adding to bag, checking out and completing a purchase)
When you make a purchase we will collect data from you at a number of stages:
- Click ‘add to bag’ – the data relating to item, size, colour will be collected so we can show the item in your bag for the duration of your visit to our Website. This is non-personally identifiable information;
- Log in (see above);
- Delivery information – this will be used to deliver your order to you, should you complete your order;
- Payment information (eg credit card details) – this will be collected so we can take the required payment, should you complete your order.
When you complete your order we will record the full details of the completed order in our Website platform for as long as you are registered with us, so we can fulfil your order, add it to your order history so we can deal with any enquiries you may have or process any returns, and include it within the financial records of our business transactions.
If you have clicked on a link from an affiliate site to visit the Coast site and subsequently made a purchase, this data is collected and shared with our affiliate networks who use it to measure how many sales are attributed to our advertising on their publisher websites.
- Contacting Customer Care
If you contact our customer care department (using the help form, by email or on live chat) we will record the contact and collect all applicable information relating to the contact. We will keep and use this information to help us categorise your contact, respond to it and resolve any issue. We will keep this information for as long as you are registered with us so that we have a history of our communications with you, to help us deal with any further contacts appropriately. This information is stored in our CRM.
- Creating a rating and/or review
When you review a product on the Coast site, you will be asked to provide some personal information - location, email, age, place of purchase. This information is stored by our ratings & reviews partner. Our ratings & reviews partner uses this information to assist with the creation of an account, to detect inauthentic content, to allow you to review and rate products on their network.
- Using Coast social media channels
We do not currently record data about your activities on our social media channels, or ‘like’ buttons or shares on the Website.
Any information about you that you need to provide when you use a particular social media channel or applications will be explained in the terms and conditions for the relevant social channel.
- Clicking on Coast banners, hyperlinks or plugins
If you view or click on emails we have sent you, or on banners or hyperlinks we have placed on other websites, the fact that you have done so, and the address of the site you were on when you did so will be recorded. This is non-personally identifiable information, which we will use it to track how successful our campaigns are. Data about email behaviour is stored by our email service provider. Data about banners and hyperlinks on other websites will be stored by our affiliate network partners.
What you can expect from us?
We will at all times comply with the standards, procedures and requirements of UK data protection laws to ensure that the personal information you give us is kept appropriately secure and processed fairly and lawfully.
We may have to pass your information to countries or jurisdictions which do not provide the same level of data protection as the UK, if necessary for the above purposes. If we do make such a transfer, however, we will (where necessary) always put a contract in place to ensure that your information is properly protected.

Other people who might use your information
In order to process your order and deliver your purchases to you we may have to pass your information to some of our service providers. This includes the companies who handle our order dispatch service and our delivery company. You are entitled under the Act to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you (for which we may charge a small administration fee).
A cookie is a piece of information our website will place on your computer’s hard drive that can track your movements while you are on the website, it will also recognise you when you visit our website again.
